Quantum mechanics is the most successful physical theory in the history of science. It set out to explain the atomic structure of matter, revolutionizing our understanding of nature, and has led to disruptive technologies. Despite the successes, the debate about the precise formulation and the meaning of the theory is still raging. Now, the foundations of quantum mechanics are recognized as urgently important, and are subject of intense theoretical and experimental research. The “Fundamental Problems in Quantum Physics” meetings are set out to explore the limits of quantum mechanic and the future of research.
